Privacy policy

There are no accounts on this site, nothing to sign up for, and nothing is sold. You can play or print every puzzle without telling us who you are.

The short version

  • No account, no login, no email required to use anything.
  • No cookies are set by this site.
  • No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
  • We never sell, rent or share personal information. There is no business here that would involve doing so.
  • We use one privacy-focused measurement tool, named below, so we can see which puzzles are worth making more of.

What stays on your device

Your puzzle progress and your display settings — letter size, high contrast, and whether the timer shows — are saved in your browser’s local storage, under the name bpg:v1:prefs. That information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browsing data removes it, and the site works normally afterwards with its default settings.

What we measure

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It is cookieless: it stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you between websites. What it reports to us is aggregate — how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world they were, which site linked them here if any, and general device and browser categories. We cannot identify an individual from it, and we do not try to.

One thing worth being straight about: Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not store any part of a visitor’s IP address, while Cloudflare’s own general privacy policy reserves the right to log end-user IP addresses. We cannot verify from the outside how those two statements fit together, so we are not going to repeat the more flattering one as though it were our own finding. If that matters to you, their documentation is the place to check, and a content blocker will stop the script loading without breaking any puzzle.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel, and their servers keep ordinary request logs — IP address, browser identification, the page requested, and the time. This is how essentially every website on the internet works; the logs exist for security and reliability, we do not use them to build any profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. You can confirm it in your browser’s developer tools, or by checking the response headers.

Downloads and the puzzle book

Printable PDFs download directly and are not tracked. When you use make your own puzzle book, the list of puzzles you ticked is sent to our server so it can build the file, and then it is gone — the selection is not stored, not attached to you, and not kept after the download is built.

Email

If you write to us, we use your address to reply and for nothing else. There is no mailing list, and we do not add anyone to one. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful to keep, and you can ask us to delete it.

What this site does not do

  • No advertising and no ad networks.
  • No social media tracking pixels or share-button trackers.
  • No selling, renting or trading of any information.
  • No cross-site tracking or advertising profiles.
  • No fingerprinting.

Where we publish, and what goes with it

We publish puzzle pages to search engines and may share puzzle images on sites such as Pinterest. What travels outward is our own content — a puzzle, a picture of a grid, a link. No information about you, and nothing about what you did on this site, goes to any of those places.

Children

This is a general-audience puzzle site. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As there are no accounts and no sign-up, there is no point at which anyone is asked for personal details.

Your choices

Because we hold no account and no profile, there is generally nothing of yours for us to look up, correct or delete. If you would like the measurement script not to run, any content blocker will stop it and every puzzle will still work. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it. If you are in a place with data-protection rights such as the UK, the EU or California, write to us and we will do what those rules require.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. We are not going to add advertising or a tracker quietly and update this page later.
