About Big Print Games
This site exists because most puzzle sites are built for young eyes and fast fingers, and a lot of people who love puzzles are neither.
Who it’s for
For anyone who has held a puzzle book at arm’s length, turned on every lamp in the room, or given up on a website because the type was the size of a grain of rice. That includes people in their seventies and eighties, people living with macular degeneration, glaucoma, or cataracts, and people who simply prefer not to squint at things.
It is also for the person printing thirty copies before an activity hour at a senior center, a library, or a care home — which is why every puzzle prints on one clean sheet and photocopies well.
What we make
Classic games, made larger, clearer, and easier to use. Big bold letters, uncluttered layouts, strong contrast, and controls that work as well under a finger on a tablet as under a mouse. Everything is free to play and free to print — no account, no app, no email address.
How we decide things
- Big is the default, not a setting. You should not have to find an accessibility menu to read the page. It arrives large; the buttons above every puzzle make the letters larger still.
- Nothing gets between you and the grid. No pop-ups asking you to subscribe before you have played a single puzzle, no video that starts on its own, no cookie wall.
- Accessibility settings stay free. Letter size, high contrast, keyboard play, printing — none of these will ever sit behind a payment. Charging people for legibility is not a business we want to be in.
- If it’s hard to read, it’s a bug. Readability problems get fixed ahead of new features.
What’s here today
Big Print Word Search — 100 themed puzzles, each a 12 by 12 grid with 12 words to find. A different one is featured every day. You can play any of them in your browser, on a phone, tablet, or computer, or print one on a single page and solve it with a pencil. Your progress is remembered on your own device, so a half-finished puzzle waits for you.
What’s next
More puzzles, and more classic games — all in big print. The list is shaped mostly by what people write in and ask for, so if there is a game or a theme you miss, say so.
Who’s behind it
Big Print Games is small and independent. There is no committee here and no call center — when you write in, a person reads it. We would rather be told plainly that something is too small, too pale, or too fiddly than never hear about it.
